The ITU (International Telecommunication Union) recently anointed WiMAX as one of its official IMT-2000 3G wireless technologies. Sprint Nextel has been calling WiMAX a 4G technology for more than a year, but the company is talking about the same technology. So which is it, 3G or 4G? Maybe it depends on the meaning of "G." Or maybe it just depends on to whom you're trying to sell it.
